Solid Little Performer
|
| Review Date: June 22, 2009 |

When I first saw this, the smallest USB Flash Drive I've ever seen, I was a little bemused and mildly concerned about how easy it would be to use. Fortunately, all my concerns were quickly swept away. The solid little drive slots into the USB port easily and securely and it takes only a few moments for all the driver and software to install so that it's ready to use forever after. As with most USB drives, it's easy to drag and drop data to and from the device, but the proprietary "Carry It Easy" software allows you to synchronise, compress and password protect your data very simply and is a useful inclusion.
Data transfers speeds are respectable and should suit all but the most demanding users: read is quoted as 30MB/s; write is quoted as 13MB/s.
The only remaining concern I have is how potentially easy it is for these tiny and lightweight drives to get stuck in the corner of a carry case or go astray without you realising. The 4GB model is lurid green on one side and black on the underside, so that may make it easier to spot if it falls. Also, when dropped, I've noticed it tends not to bounce around the floor and disappear under furniture as readily as more traditional flash drives often do, but it does seem to like vanishing into the folds and creases of upholstery. Since it comes with a handy lanyard line it can be tied onto a mobile phone or attached to something like a keyring and I'd recommend this be used to ameliorate such worries.
Overall this little device is surprisingly robust and simple to use and weighing in at only 1.2g is unlikely to tip you over your on-flight baggage allowance. |

Just what i wanted from a USB stick, so small and solid you forget its there but if you keep it on your key ring like i do it's always there when you need it. I was a little concerned that there was no cover or protection for the USB connection but you really don't need one, i've had mine you about a month now and it still looks as good as new.

The coolest flash stick you can get?

| Super nano sized flash stick. Was well impressed with the look so decided to get one, really impressed when it arrived. Comes with a chain and looks very cool for a flash drive. As the other reviewer commented, I was surprised there was no 'cover' so to speak on the connecter but have been informed the covers and old style sticky out connecters are 'cover' to act as guides so people can fit them in correctly and has little to do with protecting the connector points. No issues with this stick, connects to all the ports on my netbook perfectly fine and has had a lot of use in the past week with no issues. A fast transfer compared to the other makes I've had...excellent little flash stick! |
