WiLink 7.0 emerges from Texas Instruments bag of tricks

In today’s cell phone news, Instruments introduced a new chip called the 65nm WiLink 7.0 solution, a single chip that integrates wireless technologies such as WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, and FM transmitter/receiver. This is the first of its kind, where a chip combines all aforementioned radios, in a size that has been cut in half, and at a price which will cost 30 percent less to manufacture. Just released today, TI is providing samples of the chip to OEMs, and expects the chip to be featured inside devices by the end of 2010, and defiantly early 2011. We will bring you more as info come available!
