Nokia Life Tools Launched Across India

Today, Nokia announced the Indian release of Nokia Life Tools, the service unveiled by the company back in November 2008 The commercial launch comes after a successful pilot in the state of Maharashtra and will be first rolled-out in said state, in collaboration with the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board (MSAMB). Targeted at non-urban consumers, Nokia Life Tools includes three sub-services: Nokia Life Tools Agriculture, Nokia Life Tools Education, and Nokia Life Tools Entertainment. The Agriculture service lets you choose two plans: a basic and a premium one. The basic plan costs 30 INR ($0.65) per month, providing “daily weather updates and relevant agriculture-related news, advice and tips” anywhere in India. The premium plan, available soon in 10 Indian states, will cost 60 INR ($1.30) per month, offering “the closest market prices for three crops chosen by the subscriber,” alongside the info included in the basic plan
