Today’s cell phone news, is centered around a filing that happen weeks ago, it was a complaint to the International Trade Commission, claiming that Apple had infringed on their patents. Apple made a statement to the ITC on Friday pleading their case, and asked the ITC to stop the importing of Nokia phones. A Nokia spokesperson, told Bloomberg that Apple’s statement “does not effect the fact that Apple has failed to agree to appropriate terms for using Nokia technology and has been seeking a free ride on Nokia’s innovation since it shipped the first iPhone in 2007. Nokia is claiming that Apple’s computers, iPhods, and the iPhone all infringe on a few different patents of Nokia. These patents are related to user interfaces, cameras, antennas, and power management techniques. Speculation is circulating that the complaint against Apple is because the shrinking market share of Nokia in the US. It will be interesting to watch as this battle continues on!
