97.5 percent of all mobile app sales come from Apple’s App Store
In the world of cell phone news, Apps are continuing to be all the rage for your smartphone mobile devices. Researched by a company called Gartner, indicates that for 2009 only 16 million app sales were executed on a device that was not an Apple product. Apple has released statements of they App store reach milestone when they sold their three billionth App. This shows you that Apple has a choke hold on the competition when it comes to these lovely little down loadable programs. The research suggests that a quarter of the AppStore downloads are paid-for apps, which comfortably trumps all of it’s competition. This is remarkable considering that 18 months ago there wasn’t an App Store available. We will continue to watch this story as it develops, and will wait to see if Apple can continue to dominate the market.
